The mission of the MAB-Mackay Rehabilitation Centre is to maximize its clients’ autonomy and community participation in order to improve their quality of life.
As member-institution of the Integrated Health and Social Services University Network (CIUSSS) for West-Central Montreal, the MAB-Mackay Rehabilitation Centre is committed to fulfilling the ideals outlined in the CIUSSS's Statement of Mission and Values and Code of Ethics.
CIUSSS West-Central Montreal makes this commitment in the interests of providing all recipients with the highest quality of health care and social services.
When the healthcare network came into existence in 2015, a shared Statement of Mission and Values was developed by a team representing all of the departments and programs, in collaboration with patients’ representatives.
This initiative, undertaken in order to create a unified vision for CIUSSS West-Central Montreal, was led by the network’s ethicist under the supervision of the Department of Quality, Evaluation, Performance, Ethics and Archives.
Working in a collaborative and interdisciplinary fashion this mission is realized through the provision of specialized and ultra-specialized adaptation, rehabilitation, and social integration services to persons with a significant and persistent disability.
The Centre’s clients include children and youth with motor impairments or communication disorders, and persons of all ages who are Deaf, hard-of-hearing or who have a visual impairment. In conjunction with our clinical mission, the Centre is committed to participating in the education of healthcare professionals and conducting applied research in the field of rehabilitation.
In addition to providing services in French and English, MAB-Mackay is designated by the Ministry of Health and Social Services as an establishment providing services in English to the population of Montreal and of the Lanaudière, Laval, Montérégie and Northern Québec regions.
