Children with a significant and persistent disorder in more than two areas of development, i.e. gross motor, fine motor, speech and language.

Services Offered:

  • Assessment of the child’s function and developmental level
  • Assessment and interventions to confirm the child’s diagnosis
    (if necessary, refferal to external resources)
  • Interventions supporting the child’s development
  • Psychological support for the child and his/her family
  • Parent group information and support
  • Support for integration into daycare, school, and leisure activities

A multidisciplinary team of professionals working in collaboration to respond to the needs identified by the client/parents from the following disciplines:

  • Occupational Therapy
  • Pediatry
  • Physiotherapy
  • Psychoeducation
  • Psychology
  • Social Work
  • Special Care Counselling
  • Speech & Language Pathology

Types of interventions:

  • Individual or joint therapy
  • Group interventions
  • Information session to parents

  • Mackay site
  • Child’s environment (home, daycare, school)

  • Camp Massawippi summer camp, a fully adapted residential summer camp located in the Eastern Townships
  • Camp Massawippi Day camp, a fully adapted day camp located at the MAB site
  • Viomax, a partner who offers adapted sports and day camp activities at the Mackay Site

To access services:

  • To be eligible for services, the child must be referred by a healthcare professional, and present significant and persistent delays in at least two areas of his/her development.
  • The referral source must include a copy of the medical report indication a diagnosis of developmental delay as well as any other pertinent medical or professional report (occupational therapy, physiotherapy, psychology, speech therapy) with the Request for Services Form (DSIE Form for professionals working within the Health and Social Services Network).
  • All documents must be sent to Admissions.
